ABOUT MAGDALENA

I’m passionate about English teaching. Not just any English, but the next-level stuff – the etc.

I was fortunate enough to learn the undisputed global language in the best way possible. Well, nearly the best way. I wasn’t born English, but in my early twenties I temporarily relocated to the UK specifically to learn the language. After two years I was fluent, but then life took over and those two-years became 20 wonderful years raising a family, studying and working at Oxford University, and generally becoming totally at ease with the subtleties of English – picking up the idioms and nuances that make all the difference when trying to make an impression in the business world.

Returning to Czechia, I became aware that although many Czech businesspeople speak English, very few of them speak it fluently. I’m not talking about writing novels and knowing ten different ways of saying the same thing – I mean the business-specific vocabulary that makes communication not just coherent but impactful.

Keen to share my skills, I embarked on a new career teaching English to Czech business professionals, tapping into my experience as a presenter, negotiator and project manager in market research and academic admin in Oxford. My aim is simple – to make your English even better by adding the et cetera. ENGLISH etc.
